ATLANTA -- Federal investigators are looking to probe the case of the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old by a Union City police officer.
The U.S. Attorney's Office and FBI want to determine whether federal laws were violated in the death of Ariston Waiters. The teen was fatally shot by Union City police officer Luther Lewis in December.
The decision to involve federal investigators was made after an impromptu meeting between U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates and Sen. Vincent D. Fort on Wednesday.
A grand jury decided not to indict Lewis last week.
Union City police officials said Lewis was justified in his actions, and that Waiters grabbed the officer's gun as he was being handcuffed. An autopsy showed Waiters died of two gunshots to the back.

Is it Really Love?

Love according to Webster is:  (1) strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties (2) unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another.

According to the Wise Man Love is an Action word.  How else to you prove a feeling unless you put it into action.

I am writing this posting because I believe we rely too much on Emotion and "NO PROOF" of Love. 


A family friend of mine volunteered for a non-profit group to give back to the community, therefore, she was on a mission of Love.  Everything my friend, Trina did was because of her love for the community.  The Director of the Outreach Program was very driven to make things happen, and Trina was her best helper.  Although Trina was always there to help Ellen, others helped as well.  Trina was as driven to bring Ellen's vision for the program into fruition as Ellen was to make it happen, which is what made them an unbeatable team.  In every organization you have someone trying to move up, whether they are getting paid or volunteering.  Now, Trina welcomed all to help unknowing that their need to be validated would start to pull her spirit down with all of the lies, back biting, and overt mishandling of her.  Over the years, Trina and Ellen had become very good friends or so Trina thought.

Ellen felt that Trina was only a volunteer, who served a purpose, and although Trina was helping her all the time whenever it came to reciprocating the loyalty that Trina had shown her.... Ellen never did that.  Ellen was very disrespectful to Trina by never telling her anything when it came to Trina's job.  She would never talk to Trina, but at Trina, Ellen even called a meeting with all of  her top staff to make a major announcement that would affect Trina, but did not give Trina the courtesy of informing her in a private meeting first.  Now Ellen could have just been an inconsiderate person, or she could have been someone who was trying to break Trina's spirit.  Ellen's motives are only a part of what Trina should seek out. 

Now, many may say that Trina was loyal to a fault, however, being loyal is not the problem.  Showing that you love someone, because of your common love for a work is not the problem.  The problem comes when you "Make someone your priority, and they make you their option".  Love is an action word, and Trina wasted many years showing love to someone who did not deserve it.  However, the Love that Trina showed to the cause was and is a wonderful thing.  Trina should make sure that she surrounds herself with people who are uplifting.  


I believe that although you should always follow your heart and enjoy your work, Never allow anyone to misuse or abuse your love or loyalty.  Guard your spirit, and keep up the good work that you do.... God will take care of all who seek to harm you.

Accused Florida murderer George Zimmerman will be allowed to go free on $150,000 bond

Accused Florida murderer George Zimmerman will be allowed to go free on bond after a dramatic two-hour hearing, where he took the stand and apologized for gunning down Trayvon Martin, an unarmed 17-year-old.

"I wanted to say I am sorry for the loss of your son," a stoic Zimmerman said from the witness stand. "I did not know how old he was. I thought he was a little bit younger than I am and I did not know if he was armed or not."

The judge ordered Zimmerman to remain in jail for one more day, but could be released while awaiting trial if his family posts a $150,000 bond. Prosecutors who charged the now infamous neighborhood watchman with second degree murder lost their argument that the bond be $1 million.

Once released, Zimmerman may even be able to leave Florida if conditions of electronic monitoring can be satisfied with officers responsible for tracking his whereabouts.
